Description
Stord, in Vestland, Norway, is located in the traditional district of Sunnhordland. Stord is sometimes called "Norway in miniature" since it has such a variety of coastline, fjords, forests, agricultural land, and high mountain areas. It’s the high mountains in the north-east of Stord that William has chosen to depict losing their winter snows in this gaunt, atmospheric painting.
