Rydal Water in Snow – Original Painting by Alfred Heaton Cooper (1863 - 1929)

Sale price£4,500.00

Description

Following a snowfall, Alfred has painted this striking view from the north-eastern shore of Rydal Water, looking to Silver How. Though only 395m high, the How in snow appears much bigger, looming over the woods above Grasmere from Hammerscar to The Wyke.  As the sun dips behind Loughrigg Fell to the left, the last light of the afternoon catches the trees on Heron Island in the middle of the Water.

Set within a stylish dark wood frame.
